Build a certification study calendar that works back from exam day
A week-by-week plan that fits around work, schedules practice exams at checkpoints, and protects review time.
The prompt
Build a study calendar for my certification exam, working backward from the exam date.
Certification: [NAME]
Exam date: [DATE]
Hours I can study by day of the week: [e.g. "Mon-Thu 1 hr, Sat 3 hrs, Sun off"]
Study priorities: [PASTE THE READINESS CHECKLIST FROM STEP 1, or list weak and strong domains]
Study materials: [e.g. "official guide", "video course", "question bank", "labs"]
Blackout dates: [TRAVEL, WORK PEAKS, HOLIDAYS]
Rules:
- Reserve the final 7-10 days for review and full practice exams, not new material.
- Schedule a full practice exam around 40% of the way through and another around 75%.
- Spend most time on high-weight, low-confidence areas, but keep strong areas warm with short spaced reviews.
- Mix domains within a week rather than finishing one and never returning to it.
- Keep 10-15% of hours as buffer for missed sessions.
- Add hands-on practice for objectives that need it.
Return:
1. A week-by-week table: Week | Dates | Focus domains | Activities | Hours | Milestone.
2. A template for a single study session (warm-up review, new material, practice questions, error notes).
3. Checkpoint rules: the practice score I should be near at each checkpoint, and what to do if I'm below it, including whether to consider rescheduling (check the exam provider's rescheduling deadlines and fees).
4. How to adjust if I lose a full week.
This is step 2 of the "Pass a professional certification exam" pack. It works on its own, and can use the checklist from step 1.

How this prompt is built
This prompt follows the Few-Shot structure (Few-shot prompting). A few-shot prompt includes one or more worked examples of the input and the output you want, so the model can copy the pattern instead of guessing it.
