## Prompt

```text
Help me write design principles for my product or team.
**Product, users, and what makes us different:** [DESCRIPTION]
**Recurring design debates we have:** [e.g. "power features vs. simplicity", "consistency vs. platform conventions"]
**Decisions we are proud of and ones we regret:** [EXAMPLES]
**Company values or brand attributes:** [IF ANY]
**Who will use the principles:** [designers only / whole product team]
Rules for good principles:
- 3-6 principles, each a short memorable statement plus 2-3 sentences of meaning.
- Each must help choose between two good options. Test: could a reasonable product hold the opposite principle? If not (e.g. "Be user-friendly"), it is too generic; rewrite it.
- Order them so earlier principles win when two conflict, and say so.
- Ground them in our users and product, not universal UX truths.
For each principle return: the statement, what it means, what it does not mean, a real trade-off example from my debates showing how it decides the case, and a quick self-check question designers can ask during critique.
Also give me a 30-minute workshop outline to refine these with my team, since principles stick better when the team helps write them.
